NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
THE RESIDENTS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PARK
OTTAWA COUNTY, MICHIGAN

There will be a public hearing before a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Park Township, Ottawa County, Michigan at the Park Township Hall, 52 – 152nd Avenue, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. or thereafter for the purpose of considering amendments to the Park Township Zoning Ordinance by amending Section 38-490 Accessory uses, and adding Section 38-514 Condominium project approval; and for the purpose of considering amendments to Section 18-19 Definitions, Section 18-61(2) Preliminary plat procedures, Section 18-62 Final plats, Section 18-83(4) Streets and roads stub streets, Section 18-84 Intersections, Section 18-85 Pedestrian ways, Section 18-86 Easements, 18-87 Blocks, Section 18-88 Lots, Section 18-89 Planting strips and reserve strips, Section 18-90 Public sites and open spaces, Section 18-91 Large scale developments, Section 18-116(10)b Required improvements sidewalks and crosswalks, Section 18-116(13) Required improvements street trees, Section 18-118 Guarantee of completion of improvements required by the township, and Section 18-150 – Procedures of the Park Township Land Divisions and Subdivisions Ordinance.

Section 1 The following is a summary of the proposed text amendment to Section 38-490 Accessory uses of the Park Township Zoning Ordinance.

Section 38-490 Accessory uses

The text amendment proposes to amend Section 38-390 by including provisions to regulate poultry and fowl in zoning districts outside of the agricultural and permanent open space district. The proposed provisions regulate the number of poultry and fowl, slaughtering, containment, setbacks, area for each animal, odors, roosters, food storage, and permit revocation.

Section 2 The following is a summary of the proposed addition of Section 38-514 Condominium project approval of the Park Township Zoning Ordinance.

Section 38-514 Condominium project approval

The text amendment proposes to regulate condominium projects by requiring site plan approval by the Board of Trustees after recommendation of the Planning Commission. The proposed provisions require certain site plan elements, regulate streets, roads, sidewalks, street trees, street lights, utilities, and require public hearing for a project.

Section 18-19 Definitions

The text amendment proposes to add Preliminary Plat to the definitions.

Section 18-61(2) Preliminary plat procedures

The text amendment proposes to add provisions regarding a public hearing, fix numerical references, and clarify that the Clerk is the Township Clerk.

Section 18-62 Final plats

The text amendment proposes to fix numerical references and clarify that the Clerk is the Township Clerk.

Section 4 The specific text for the proposed changes to the Park Township Zoning Ordinance and the Park Township Land Divisions and Subdivisions Ordinance can be examined at the Park Township Office during normal business hours, or online at www.parktownship.org/news/. Written comments will be received at the Park Township Office through the date of the hearing or may be emailed to planning@parktownship.org.

The Township of Park will provide necessary and reasonable auxiliary aids and services at this hearing, such as signers for hearing-impaired persons and audiotapes of printed materials for visually impaired persons, upon receipt of five days prior notice.
