Keeter, 4Skip Keeter, 42 Lakeshore Drive N., questioned the 4th
of July fireworks display contribution thru the M.A.C.C. He noted it
was assessed at $2700, but the Board elected to pay $1500. He asked if
the balance has been paid, and if not, why.
Visser
stated the $1500 was the amount approved by the Board and paid.
Eric Fogg,
16275 Quincy Street, proposed to Ottawa Aviation and the Airport
Committee his desire to obtain a military aircraft from the government
to be used as a display. There would be no cost for the aircraft. It
would always be a federal government asset. He asked the Board for
approval to start the acquisition process.
Van
Iwaarden questioned the maintenance of an aircraft display.
Fogg
answered he would like an unpainted aluminum aircraft, which requires a
one time buffing. It would be complete on the outside, the inside
stripped and sealed.
Visser
questioned the expense to transport the aircraft to Park Township.
Fogg
answered it would not be over $5,000 total.
Steggerda
stepped down due to conflict of interest.
Marsilje
questioned if he would ask Ottawa Aviation or Park Township for the
money.
Fogg is
unsure. The expense from the federal government is “fuzzy”, but he
feels that it would be a small amount. He also explained the
application process.
Van
Iwaarden suggested submitting a report detailing requirements and costs.
Fogg
stated the only thing he wants from the Board at this time is the
authority to begin the process of acquiring an application.
Price
stated Ottawa Aviation is trying to make the airport more of an airpark.
It is uncertain if the land where they intend to mount it is Airport
property or Park Township’s.
Visser
stated that by consensus, Eric Fogg has approval to proceed with his
proposal to obtain a military aircraft, until the need for funds.
